Guten Tag friends and fans! To help get ready for the 11 year anniversary (Because THIS goes up to 11! Spinal Tap reference?? Anyone? Anyone…. Bueller?) of A GREAT AND TERRIBLE BEAUTY (Delacorte, 2003), I’m launching an international giveaway campaign. Yes, that’s right! Once a month, one randomly selected winner will receive a copy of my book(s) signed and sent directly to you. It’s free and easy!
All you have to do is reblog this post (or share this Facebook picture).
For July 2014, we are giving away a full set of the Gemma Doyle trilogy in German! No requirement to speak/be German to enter. The winner will be announced during the first week of August.

Stay tuned to get clues for which language and book(s) will be part of the International Giveaway for August 2014.

"Good grammar and hygiene"

Cover letter of despair written by my writer pal, Justin Weinberger. Perfect letter is perfect.

"Hardworking, passion-driven entertainment professional with ten years’ experience working for Academy Award-winning producer, Academy Award-nominated director, and Razzie Award-winning legend seeks opportunity which will permit him to recover some fraction of his dignity. Willing to accept entry-level salary and delude self into thinking 100-hour weeks with uncompensated overtime will be rewarded when an opportunity arises, and bow out gracefully when the charade of this is exposed.

Good grammar and hygiene. Passable writer and conversationalist. Aspiring misanthrope.”

If I want to drive from New York City to Connecticut, I will devise a route that goes through Jacksonville, Florida, and a Topeka, Kansas, ashram. (You don’t want me holding the map, is the lesson here.)
